In diesem Text wird zunächst die Entwicklung des niederländischen Dritten Sektors im 20 Jahrhundert beschrieben. Darüber hinaus diskutieren die Autoren, inwiefern die niederländischen Nonprofit-Organisationen als horizontaler Sektor aufgefasst und insbesondere im Verhältnis zur Regierung als solcher behandelt werden.
The evolution of the Dutch third sector within the 20th century is described in this text. Furthermore the authors discuss whether the Nonprofit-Organizations are actually forming a horizontal sector and how this is perceived by politics.

CIVICUS, Civil Society Index (Country Report).
The CIVICUS Civil Society Index (CSI) is a participatory needs assessment and action planning tool for civil society around the world, with the aim of creating a knowledge base and momentum for civil society strengthening initiatives. The CSI is initiated and implemented by, and for, civil society organizations at the country level. It also actively involves and disseminates its findings to a broad range of stakeholders including government, donors, academics and the public at large.
